interlaced fingers

Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah SAW said;

“The relationship of the believer with another believer is like (the bricks of) a building, each strengthens the other.” He illustrated this by interlacing the fingers of both his hands.

Working in Newham for the past 17 years, East London Academy has gained and immense amount of insight in to and experience of the community we live in. We believe that stable, well rounded individuals contribute to the development of a stable, sustainable community. We value and appreciate the unique diversity within Newham and understand that inclusion of all groups in our area will aid community cohesion and harmony.

We want to empower everyone from the children, to the youth to the mothers to be able to be active and confident participants in society, and know that in order to do so they need to be spiritually, mentally and physically healthy.

We also acknowledge that our borough has specific issues that need to be combatted and we aim to address these through our community initiatives.

We want to build believers who are strong enough to be able to support and encourage each other. Spiritually, physically and mentally. This is the concept that underlies all the work that we do.

Through this event we aim to highlight the importance of building strong community relationships, encourage others to get involved, and also make people aware of the services we offer to give support.
